OPTICAL PAVEMENT MARKERS
Optical reflective road markers are constructed from Toughened glass, a material that is harder than steel offering enhanced mechanical properties exceeding 38 tons. Optical Toughened glass technology has unmatched abrasion and wear characteristics when compared to plastic pavement markers.

Two models are available, 360 degree and 180 degree visibility.
Both bi-directional and mono-directional markers are available in all standard colors including bi-colored configurations.

Armorstuds 360 degree unidirectional optical reflex technology reflects light back to its projected source from any area within its 360 degree radius.

Mark winding roads and turns with a distinct visible marking system for all oncoming motorists.

Armorstuds optical reflex technology captures and consolidates incoming light rays from its exposed dome.
Light is then redirected to the metalized mirror below the ground surface. The mirror re-directs a focal beam of light directly back to the vehicle providing a precise, effective signal even in adverse road conditions.

Marker is bonded into the pavement / concrete surface protecting and eliminating mirror deterioration. These factors contribute to its longevity and optical performances which are further reinforced by its toughened glass structure ultimately guarantying the markers functionability permanently.

The markers optics allow vehicles to never leave its entrance angle creating a sustained light signal for all approaching motorists.

APPLICATIONS

In addition to roadway applications, both 360° and 180° markers can be used to identify curbing, medians, rotaries, and islands as well as one way roads with its bi-color function, red/white amber /red.

Notating that the angled illumination characteristics of the markers 360° and 180° as well as their optical performances prove that the marker is capable of adapting to all types of roadways no matter what type of light curvature rays may be present or the type of roadway they are installed in. (Highway, express roadways, rural city, town roads and one ways).


The standard version responds to the extreme geometrics of the specification EN 1463. Effectively, the size of the dome above the surface is only 0.77" (19.8mm) with a diameter of 2.2" (54mm) creating an exposed surface of impact that is inferior to its competitors.
STANDARD MODEL AUTO CLEANSING CHARACTERISTICS
Road Side installations using the standard 360-RM1 marker with a dome height of 0.77" can be used in areas / zones where mud and dirt accumulation is problematic. The dome height of 0.77" guarantees and permits the optical surface to maintain a high level of reflection even though the base may be covered with mud or dust.

Rounded dome facilitates auto cleansing during rainfall.


MODEL 360-FT

Armorstud's low profile marker (Flat Top) carries the same characteristics as 360-RM1 and 180-RM2 models. Its protruding optical center is only 1/2 inch in height.

Flat top markers are designed for reduced noise impact and can be used in both rural and highway applications.

APPLICATIONS
Flat top version of the glass pavement marker was taken into account for motorcyclists and for areas requiring low rumble including foot traffic. The marker consists of an exposed surface of only 0.51" (13 mm) with a cross form flat top providing anti skid properties.
APPLICATIONS FOR FLAT TOP MARKERS
Utilizing the flat top marker with an exposed dome surface of only 0.51" (13mm) limits the constraints and impacts to motorcyclists. The flat anti-skid surface offers safe pedestrian passage were markers are of abundance such as crosswalks, airports and stadiums.

180 DEGREE FUNCTIONALTY

Mono-directional markers function like a single sided pavement marker.

The carburetor and design of the marker allow entrance angles up to 180 degrees from face front providing greater road marking visibility when installed on winding and merging roadways.

How does Armorstud's mono-directional properties function?

Armorstud 180 degree mono-directional optical reflex technology enables the stud to perform from only half of its exposed surface.

The opposite side of the marker absorbs entering light beams with no return.

INSTALLATION METHODS
Quick, easy installation
Simply drill, clean, insert adhesive and place marker.
Installations are performed using core-drilling bits, preferably with Diamond tip cutters or by grinding directly to the surface.

Three core bits are currently available, the specially designed One-step diamond bit core that drills and grinds the hole to a specific depth, or a common 4.3 inch drilling core that requires removal of the core and the grinder for highway and large volume installations.

Different machines may be used depending on the
amount of markers being installed.

Installations are performed using core-drilling bits, preferably with Diamond tip cutters or by grinding directly to the surface.
US Reflector offers three types of core bits that adapt to small or large volume installations: One-step Bit, 4.3" Holo core bit and grinder bit.

Cutting Methods

1) Common 4.3 inch drilling core that requires core removal when drilled by means of hammer drill /chisel / hammer.
Uses: Small to medium volume installations

2) The specially designed One-step diamond bit core that drills and grinds the hole to the markers specific depth.
Uses: Small to medium volume installations

3) Carbide bit grinders for large volume pavement marker installations.

Different machines may be used depending on the amount of markers being installed. Uses: Large volume installations

Coring rigs
INSTALLATION ADHESIVES
Several types of adhesive are available : Hot melt bituminous, Pellet Hot melt adhesive, Liquid rubber and two part adhesive resin. Hot melt bituminous adhesive is the most popular but not always the best suited for all applications.
