Opti-Grip Pellet adhesive

Although bituminous adhesive is the most commonly used throughout the industry, new stronger adhesives have been developed to maintain enhanced bonding characteristics that ultimately contribute to better adhesion properties. One such adhesive is Opti-Grip pellet adhesive.

Opti-Grip unlike bituminous, is a small pellet size modern clear hot melt adhesive that is easier to work with, faster to heat up and is easier to use then bituminous. Opti-Grip provides cleaner, quicker applications by taking advantage of its multiple heat melting techniques. Thanks to its quick heating ability, pellet adhesive can reduce clogging of evacuation hoses found on thermo heating units. Additional advantages of pellet adhesive allow for single or multiple marker installations without a thermal heating tank for melting. A common plumbers blow torch or thermo pavement marking torch is all that is required to melt the pellets for immediate marker bonding.

Today, Hot bituminous is less expensive then most adhesives, but has 3 times less volume per pound when compared to Opti-Grip pellet adhesive. Opti-grip has twice the bonding strength of bituminous and averages the same cost ratio per volume. Pellet adhesive is not only stronger, but has aggressive bonding characteristics when used on pavement and/or concrete surfaces alike. Opti-grip prolongs the bonded state of a raised pavement by twice its average life span. Opti-grip pellet adhesive can be used to replace bituminous in thermal heating pots or it can be used as a stand alone adhesive. This system or adhesive may already be used with your current plastic marker adhesion process.
